2* Saturday Half Day Ride | 2* |
---|
Leader:Susie Turnbull |
Start Time:9:30 am |
Start Location:OMH |
Description:Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly. Might be a struggle for new or irregular riders in winter months.from Grove following usual route to Letcombe, up 2 hills to the top Of Hackpen. Down to Lambourn, along the Lambourn valley to Eastbury, and then a loop back to Lambourn for coffee. After coffee to towards Hackpen and then left fork down Blowingstone. Then back through the Vale. Quite a few hills but we will them slowly and always wait at the top to regroup. There's an option to shorten the ride if its very wet! |

Riders:David BridgeDes Higgs Eddie Little Julie Haynes Karl Blake Nick Portsmouth Roger Postbeschild Roger Turnbull Steve Swanton Susie Turnbull Riders = 10 Weather:Report:We set off in sunshine following the planned route up and down hills to Lamborn. Then a loop down to Eastbury, up to Baydon and back to Lamborn for much needed coffee and cake. Steve joined us there and sadly the rain arrived at the same time. It was pouring when we left so we decided to change the route and return via Hackpen and Grove as quickly as possible. So the ride was about 6 miles shorter than planned. Thanks to everyone for their good humor and company! | ||

Saturday Off Road Ride | 2* |
---|
Leader: |
Start Time:10:00 am |
Start Location:Wantage Market Place |
Description:Off-road ride for those who like their rides bumpy and (sometimes) muddy on second Saturday mornings. The rides will be about 20 miles, mostly off-road, and aim to finish in time for a late lunch (whether together or heading for home). We adjust the ride to suit the riders and the weather, but in general the terrain will be rough, so a mountain-bike in good condition and with knobbly tyres is recommended. |
