Riders:Chris BaileyEddie Little Joy Arthur Lisa Footner Nick Dunton Roger Postbeschild Sharon Bedford Riders = 7 Weather:Report:We set off from Wantage on a relatively chilly morning with light cloud & sun for good measure. For most of the the ride we had a pretty strong head wind with all riders coping very well! We had lots of hills to climb, but what goes up must come down! Great views through the Lambourn Valley & of the River Kennet at Chilton Foliat & the Kennet & Avon Canal at Froxfield & Kintbury. An interesting time was had by all on one of the small lanes just the other side of Froxfield with all cyclists having to climb onto the bank with bikes giving way to a tractor carrying bales, followed by a convoy of around eight cars. Certainly a tight squeeze! We all arrived in good time at Eliane of Hungerford to enjoy some delicious coffee & mouth watering cakes. As usual fast & very efficient service. We set off over the common which was incredibly busy with cars. Once over the A 4 at Kintbury the roads were a lot quieter & that was the story for the rest of the ride back to Wantage. Unfortunately Joy had a puncture at Brightwalton, but this was fixed super fast by Roger. Many thanks to you Roger! A lovely ride with excellent company! Thanks to Roger for sweeping duties. | ||
