Riders:Lorna SwantonMila Yearley Sarah Macaulay Steve Swanton Susan Holdroyd Tim Waite Riders = 6 Weather:![]() ![]() Report:Three of us set out from Old Mill Hall, picking up Tim in Charlton and Sarah and Susan on the track at Lark Hill. On the Icknield Greenway, regrouping after the climb up from the Bridge of Doom, we discovered it had lived up to its name and Mila had a puncture. Old-school repairs were required, as she didn't have a spare inner tube, but Steve took charge and all was completed efficiently. There was time for a good chat and to listen to skylarks above. We all resolved to check our puncture repair kits etc when we got home...Coffee etc at the Lightbox was excellent; Harwell Campus green and pleasant, with new areas of planting. We'd planned to return via the Ginge farm track but found the way barred by a gate (and the route 544 sign removed), so backtracked to the Icknield Greenway, then up to Ginge on the road. A lovely descent through Lockinge, admiring the views and an adorable foal, then up to the magnificent cycle path by King Alfred Way back to Grove. No one went all the way back to the start; people peeled off where most convenient for them to get home. A lovely morning; great company and team-work. Thanks everyone! | ||

The weather was very changeable as when the sun went behind the clouds the breeze was very chilly. We all arrived at the Baking Bee together and were all served fairly fast with coffee and cakes. The journey home went well - the top of 2* pace was maintained by all. Thank you to Roger T for looking after the second group. No problems, a good ride with an excellent group of riders.
