Report:A scenic ride mostly on country lanes or tracks with stones, so not recommended for road bikes with narrow tyres.The A417 from Rowstock Corner wasn’t conducive for 1* ride so took the track linking Rowstock Corner to East Hendred. It was badly rutted for most of its length; very leisurely pace required. Average speed 6mph incl coffee stop. Ride is saved in 1*star ridewithgps but couldn't obtain a URL reference. | ||

We set off in a little light rain which was very refreshing and didn't last too long. We went out via Charney, Gainfield and Hatford Downs to the A420 (where we met a very ignorant lorry driver - no major problems). Then on to Blakes at Clanfield where the service and coffee was excellent. We had a chat about local celeb Henry Cole and lo and behold between Clanfield and Bampton a cameraman was filming the aforementioned coming towards us on a motorbike! Everyone got up Buckland Hill with no problem. Unfortunately the leader got a puncture at the Col de Denchworth (railway bridge) but thanks to tremendous team support made it back.Thank you one and all for your help and support. | ||
