Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Easy sociable ride of 24-32 km (15-20 miles) at a pace of 14-17km/h (9-11 mph).Note this ride starts at OMH but finishes at the Bay Tree Café Wantage. It is a short ride (8.4 miles) but with a few ‘inclines’ to provide some exercise! In detail, leave Grove heading for Wantage, left at Lidl, a detour through Kingsgrove, and onto the Parkinson Community Garden in West Lockinge. Then onto East Lockinge and the ‘hard’ left hand bend for the descent into Ardington; optional coffee stop here. Return to Wantage via Route 544 & the back roads to Bay Tree café for the other optional coffee stop. |

Report:An enjoyable ride with two stops:-Parkinson Garden @ East Lockage (very peaceful setting, nice seating area and walkways through plants and vegetable.) A coffee stop plus natter @ The Grocer Chef Ardington. With stops average speed 6ml/hr. | ||

We followed the route as prescribed which worked very well for all apart from John G who chose to make his own way by road instead of using the bridge. He met up with us again on the other side. No breakdowns or crashes. On the return leg we negotiated the A420 crossing without incident. | ||

Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 10 -15 miles. Knobbly tyres required and good lights when it gets dark (‘get you home’ lights in Spring/Autumn). We are keen to welcome new riders and can make recommendations or have spare lights to borrow if you let us know. Dark, cold and wet - we’ll ride in any two. But please let us know if you are coming so we can tell you if we decide to cancel due to bad weather or other reasons.The route goes out via Larkhill, along the Ridgeway past Scutchamer Knob. Then descending, following the bridleways out towards the back of Chiltern, Harwell Campus, St Mary’s Church East Hendred, along the Lynch, linking us back up to the Icknield Greenway. Ride Distance 13.6 miles/22km. GPS Route/link to follow. |

I’m sure that will happen during the coming months. It was a pleasure to welcome Andrew on his first ride with us. The views from the Ridgeway were as usual amazing. We tried out a few new bridleways around the Hendred area, which didn’t disappoint. All riders safely back in Wantage for around 08:15pm. Thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable evening. | ||
