Off Road Sunday Ride 2*
Leader:
Eddie Little
Start Time:

The Lord Nelson, Charlton Road, Wantage.
Description:
Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road half day ride around local tracks, usually 15-30 miles. Knobbly tyres required. We are keen to welcome new riders of all abilities.

This is one of my favourite rides, as we cycle along the Ridgeway from the monument out to White Horse Hill, you’ll be rewarded with some amazing views of the Vale and beyond. We’ll return via the Wilts & Berks Canal. Optional stop for coffee afterwards in Wantage. Ride distance/ 21.2 miles/34km.

Report:
A great group of 5 riders came out to enjoy a beautiful morning ride on the trails. The route gave a good range of trails to cycle on, from bridleways to the Ridgeway and the Wilts & Berks canal tow path, plus a few technical parts thrown in for good measure which everyone managed very well. It was nice to bump into a few fellow club members on our ride, Jan & Andy out running with the Harriers, and later Jane and Yvonne out on their final training ride before they tackle the North Downs Way next week. We wish them all the very best and safe travels. Thanks to everyone for joining me on this ride.
Distance:
33.83 km (21.02 mi)
