CTC Oxfordshire Bourton Weekend - 1/2* Sunday Ride 2*
Leader:
Steve Swanton
Start Time:
10:00 am
Start Location:
Riverside Café, Bourton-on-the-water
Description:
A leisurley introduction to some Cotswold hills; a ride of about 22 miles led by Helen Beane (01865 726750 or mob: 07958 933627) starting at 10am from the Riverside Cafe, High Street, Bourton-on-the-water, GL54 2BP.

We'll be climbing to Stow on the Wold for lunch (9.5 miles)and with time to look round. Back on the bike, there's a lovely long descent to Bledington in the Evenlode Valley and then a steady climb in stages back over the Wold through the Westcots and then a final descent back to Bourton from Little Rissington. This is designed to be a relaxed and sociable ride with plenty of time to enjoy the views and take the hills at your own pace.

Riders very welcome to come along just for the day, but please let Helen or Steve (07857 527990) know that you are planning to come. Parking available in the main village car park on the south east side of the village off Rissington Road just before Birdland (or take a chance in one of the side roads).

Report:
Despite the damp conditions we had a great day out. The Countryside was just gorgeous, vividly green with wild flowers filling the roadside verges. Everyone managed the hills and the rain abated for most of our ride home. (More to come...)
Distance:
37.82 km (23.50 mi)
