RIDE CANCELLED.
ALTHOUGH THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE FINISHING EARLIER, THERE IS NOW A HEAVY RAINSTORM PREDICTED WHICH WOULD FOLLOW US ROUND. I HAVE THEREFORE DECIDED TO CANCEL THE RIDE.

All-day touring ride (80-100km / 50-65 miles), lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing almost inevitable.

A hilly ride covering Hackpen Hill and then onto Ashbury and up Foxhill. We will then go past Wroughton and Broad Hinton before having lunch at Mercer's in Marlborough. They offer a range of food including burgers, scampi and chips, jacket potatoes and omelettes, as well as some highly recommended cakes. We wil then go past Ramsbury and Woodland St Marys before Great Shefford and then turning off the A338 towards Farnborough and then Chain Hill.
This ride is 101km (63 miles) with 1148m of climbing. The whole day involves either climbing or descending, so will be a tough ride, but hopefully we'll be rewarded with some good views and, possibly, some new lanes to cycle on.
