Description:Monthly 80-100km (50-65 miles) all-day touring ride, lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing almost inevitable. Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Not suitable for irregular riders.Slight change to the original plan as it turns out that Wendy's is shut this week. We'll go out through Lambourn as planned and then have the first cafe stop at the Tutti Pole at Hungerford. Then onto Little Bedwyn before heading for Ramsbury and Aldbourne before the second stop at Shrivenham, then returning to Wantage. 58 miles and still plenty of climbing. PLEASE NOTE: start time of 9am as the cafe in Shrivenham shuts at 2pm. |

A few different back roads near Hungerford added a bit of interest before the first stop at Eliane's. We then went onto Little Bedwyn where I had routed us across the canal over a bridge of steps! We decided to carry the bikes over rather than go on to the next crossing. The views over the downs were stunning and the route didn't take us up too steep hills, which added to the enjoyment. We made it to Shrivenham just in time to be served at the cafe before heading back to Wantage.A great ride with great company. Thanks everyone. | ||
