10 Mile Club 1*	1*

Description: Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. A return trip to Childrey but by a cunningly different route. Out via Denchworth and West Challow with a gentle climb on a metalled bridleway up into Childrey. After a rest by the pond, we'll to Grove returning via East Challow and Stockham. About 11 miles.
Riders: Mandy Wassell Sarah Dore Steve Boreham Steve Swanton Riders = 4 Weather: Report: A select group of 4 for our Midsummer ride. We took our time to enjoy the evening. After our customary stop in Denchworth, we stopped again on the Circourt railway bridge to take in the panorama across the vale towards the Downs. The bridleway from West Challow up into Childrey has a good surface and brings you out into the heart of the village after a gentle climb. Rather than stopping by the pond, we continued down the lane to the church - another lovely spot. We took advantage of the bench in the churchyard to sit, chat and look back out over the Vale. Having taken the off-road route into Wantage at the weekend, the preference was for the road on return, so we enjoyed the gentle descent down to Challow station and returned via Goosey and Asti Stud. A lovely gentle ride. We look forward to seeing everyone back for the Pub Night ride next week .
