Description:This is a pre-bookable ride only. To book your place please text the ride leader no sooner than the Wednesday before the ride.Heading north to Southmoor, at 25km this will be our longest 1*evening ride of the season. Out via Lyford with a gentle climb from the River Ock to Southmoor and a nice easy descent to Charney Bassett on the way back. Our leisurely and sociable Tuesday 1* rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. |

Report:Despite catching the edge of a shower at Denchworth, this turned into a very pleasant evening to be out on the bike. We extended the ride slightly to visit the old Lamb and Flag at Southmoor. This was the lunch stop on the very first Wantage Ride, used occasionally for refreshments on Saturday 1* rides since. Sad to see it is now a private house.Great to see Steve B out or his first ride of the season. Thanks everyone for your company on an enjoyable evening. | ||
