MINCE PIE RIDE NEXT SUNDAY – FINAL UPDATE

Posted on December 3rd, 2017

Hello everyone

Thanks to all for the pub bookings for lunch next Sunday – this has now closed and all the menu choices are with the Fox.

Thanks also for the contributions arriving throughout the weekend of wine and pies. Just to re-cap: we are asking our members to donate mince pies and/or mulled wine and/or basic red wine and/or cartons of cranberry & raspberry juice to go towards what we serve up on the Hill. We actually prefer basic red wine to the pre-mulled stuff as Carin will be working her magic on the mulling with a secret recipe which will make the house smell totally amazing next Saturday! We do this in order to enable us to give away everything we collect on the day to Whizz Kidz. In the same way as in previous years, could you please drop off your contributions in our porch:

Evergreen, Main Street
Grove
OX12 7JF

We are on the corner of Main Street and Laurel Crescent, towards the traffic lights end of Main Street. There is plenty of room for cars to pull in to the drive through the gate (which is on Main Street) and the porch will be unlocked between now and the event. We need to have these donations by the latest – Friday evening, 8th December.

NB: a new innovation for this year (thanks to Hugo for the idea) – if you would prefer to give a bit of cash so we can buy supplies in, go via PayPal and link to my email address below. I will confirm all such contributions.

All of our ride details are on the website and we know that many local clubs are organising their own rides to join us on the Hill as well. It will no doubt be a great occasion of thronging lycra, as usual! Carin and I will be serving out the refreshments, ably assisted by Steve B and Mandy (and hopefully by Barry after his knee op) – we look forward to seeing you up there.

Many thanks!
John
