Here are a few quick points about our spring and summer schedule:
TUESDAY RIDES START NEXT WEEK
Having had to cancel due to rain this week, we are restarting the Tuesday evening rides next week, Tuesday 11th April, with all rides starting at 18.30. We have 2* and 3* rides leaving from Millbrook Square in Grove and the off-road ride leaving from Wantage Market Place. Please book in advance with the ride leader. Also please bring lights as we will have limited daylight to start with. The 1* rides will restart on Tuesday 30th April to take advantage of a bit more daylight.
TUESDAY PUB NIGHTS
As is traditional, the last Tuesday of each month is pub night, which means that all the rides will stop at the Fox Inn at Denchworth so those who would like to can drop in for a drink or a meal. It’s not compulsory, and there will be the opportunity to head back to Grove/Wantage for those who need to do that. The first date for your diaries is Tuesday 30th April.
START TIMES
We anticipate large number of you joining the Tuesday rides and we have a responsibility to the local community to get the rides out into the countryside as efficiently as possible. At our recent Ride Leaders meeting, we agreed to make sure that the rides usually go off in sequence, with faster groups going first. This does rely on those who have booked onto rides being there on time, so we ask you to be there by 18.20 for an 18.30 start.
START LOCATIONS
We have had a couple of instances recently of confusion over start locations for weekend rides. Please note that these may start at Old Mill Hall, the Beacon in Wantage or sometimes another location altogether for away-day rides. The details are always on the website so we ask you to check there before setting out to make sure you end up at the right place.
