Description:The third in CTC Oxfordshire's programme of Explorer rides visisted different areas of the county of Oxfordshire. Today we'll be touring in the North of the county starting from Banbury and following part of the Oxfordshire Cycleway, a distance of about 45 miles. This will be the hilliest of this year's Explorer rides taking us through ironstone country -an area of the county that is different in terrain from the South and little visited by the local CTC groupsLunch at the Sun in Hook Norton. Possible ice cream stop at Cropredy. A variety of car parking options in Banbury. Cherwell DC car parks currently £1 all day, Castle Quay £1.50 on Sunday. Report:A great day out on the bike enjoying the lanes, ups and downs of North Oxfordshire. A lovely group of 7 riders including a local, Sean, from Banbury. Mila tells me we climbed 820m after the first hill. But we took it steadily and everbody was (still) smiling at the end. Full report and pictures will appear on the CTC Oxfordshire website. | ||
