Riders:Adam ClarkChris Walters John Talbot Jonty Ward Karen Froud Louis Hall Nick Stokell Phil Ward Riders = 8 Weather:Report:It was clearly a chilly start for John and Adam who cycled over from home, but for the sane ones, after a coffee, it was plenty warm enough. There was an excellent climb from Nailsworth, with hairpins and everything. Even the cafe towards the top had marbled toilets and a magnificent cake selection. Five of us enjoyed the facilities while waiting for the "off the front = off the ride" contingent to come back and rejoin us. A speedy descent into Stroud was a great precursor to our second climb of the day. Karen was most disappointed that the flat section half way up was only half way up... still, we all made it. A quick stop for provisions on the outskirts of Gloucester and then we were off up the main event. Most people managed it without the odd stroll. It was rather tough though. Crossing over into the Cotswolds proper, John found us a fantastic picnic spot, and we had an impromptu family picnic moment (well, there were two Wards). Some great descents followed, and then the easiest 20mph I've ever done on the flat brought us back to the start, for ice-creams. Well done everyone, some tough climbs today! | ||
