Luckily the flooding on the road between Denchworth and West Hanney had drained away nicely overnight, so there was no need to carry out the optional detour (Plan B anyone?). A gentle flattish route, with a (shock, horror!)hill climb passing Lains Barn, followed by a gentle descent to Smiths tearooms at Ardington. Steve S wisely decided to make the most of the lovely weather, taking in an extra solo loop of the village, joining us back at the tearooms a few minutes later. A final couple of miles to home, zig-zagging our way through Lockinge, where two cockerels residing at the local racing stables signalled their early morning call, despite it being late afternoon!.... A big welcome to Mandy, Allie, and Jackie, and really nice to see Lorna, Jane and Steve B back out on their bikes. Thanks everyone for your company!...... Glen S. | ||
