Description:***Saturday morning update***Weather looks better, so will go ahead with the ride.🙂Revisiting a ride from November 2024.... Ride out to Longworth with refreshment stop at Blue Boar PH. Reverse the route though, so out via Charney Bassett and Hinton Waldrist, and return via Southmoor/Kingston Bagpuize and then West Hanney (or Lyford). Round trip of just shy of 20 miles Our regular social and family ride on the third Saturday of the month, usually with a cafe stop. We cover 16-32km (10-20 miles) at a leisurely pace of 13-16km/h (8-10mph), tackling the occasional hill (nothing too long) and easy off-road track (conditions permitting). Please let the ride leader know if you are planning to come. |

Report:Well, just a small group of three of us for this one. After the washout of the day before, it was a relief somewhat to get out. Although the weather was a bit grey - it stayed dry, and - despite Friday's rain, there were hardly any "muddy bits" to negotiate.. So the route - all round - was very easy.Biggest issue with the group of three was deciding who would take "back marker" duties(!). Unsurprisingly, we managed this bit quite well.... Tea stop at the Blue Boar PH, and - having kept them informed re our numbers, joke was made by the owner that they had catered for a very large group and put on a huge spread(!) After a good break at the pub, nice easy run back via Southmoor, and opted for the route via Lyford - well, - decisions have to be made as you go along....(!) - all very "tough". Thank you both for great company. | ||
