Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 10 - 15 miles. Knobbly tyres required and good lights when it gets dark (‘get you home’ lights in Spring/Autumn). We are keen to welcome new riders and can make recommendations or have spare lights to borrow if you let us know. Dark, cold and wet - we’ll ride in any two. But please let us know if you are coming so we can tell you if we decide to cancel due to bad weather or other reasons.A short and relatively flat route to start the season off. The route takes us through Henrietta Knights yard, Lockinge, up through Goddard’s Brook to Lord Wantage Monument on the Ridgeway. We’ll then follow the Ridgeway over to Manor Road, looping back round via Court Hill & Lark Hill. Expect to be back in Wantage for around 19:45hrs. Ride Distance 10.2mi/17km. |

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, some riders were unable to make this first ride. Though still a good turnout of fifteen riders between the two groups. It was a pleasure to welcome new riders Charlotte and Alan on their first ride with the club. Also, it was nice to welcome back James from last year and Graham on his first Off- road ride with the club. The trails were super dry. Everyone enjoyed their first ride of the season though it became quite chilly towards the end. As we reached Larkhill we had an amazing view of the sun setting which is always a bonus. We also had the privilege of seeing a closeup view of a raven as we cycled along the Ridgeway. A nice group to have led on the first ride of the new season. | ||
