Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 10 - 15 miles. Knobbly tyres required and good lights when it gets dark (‘get you home’ lights in Spring/Autumn). We are keen to welcome new riders and can make recommendations or have spare lights to borrow if you let us know. Dark, cold and wet - we’ll ride in any two. But please let us know if you are coming so we can tell you if we decide to cancel due to bad weather or other reasons.A nice straight forward route up Larkhill down Old Street backup and along the Ridgeway via Scutchamer’s knob, East Lockinge via Knights Farm, arriving back in Wantage for around 08:00pm. Ride distance 12.7mi/20km. |

Report:We had perfect conditions out on the trails. Light cloud along with a slight breeze and mild temperatures. It was a pleasure to welcome Alex on his first ride. We followed the route along Larkhill then down one of our favourite trails Old Street before turning left and climbing back up to the Ridgeway via Scutchamer Knob, this is where we briefly met up with the first group for a quick chat and a photo opportunity. Both groups then headed off in different directions. We followed the Ridgeway as far as the Lord Wantage Monument. From this point we had a fantastic descent all the way to East Lockinge, finally arriving back in Wantage for around 08:10pm. Everyone very much enjoyed the ride. A lovely evening with good company. | ||
