The countryside is still gloriously lush and colourful, quite unusual this late into the summer. I think the very wet August has helped to preserve things a little longer. Wen, Kevin, and Tom decided to ride as far as the crossroads north of West Hanney and then return home. Tom did a brilliant job riding with the group, and maintaining a good steady pace. The A338 from Garford was quite busy as usual, but fortunately the tea stop was a short distance and we arrived there in no time at all. Choice for Sunday tea stops especially on shorter rides is a bit limited to be honest, and Millets farm does get busy and is a bit expensive. Still it served it's purpose well, and we were soon suitably refreshed and heading off on the homeward journey. After the short stretch of A415 we were soon back on quiet lanes taking in Fyfield Wick, Charney Bassett, and arriving back to Old Mill Hall for about 4.30 pm. As a footnote- This ride was the longest distance ever cycled by several members of the group. A fantastic achievement. Well done to all !.... Thanks everyone for a very pleasant afternoons cycling !
