Geoff Neill

1:00 pm

Description:
Bumper hilly 38km (24miles)ride. Up on to Ridgeway at Monument, then along to A34 before turning right across country. Between the Ilsleys taking Furze lane to Farnborough. Down Chain gang hill taking left track to A338 and into Wantage. I rode round it on Saturday 22nd and found it very dry with a ride time of 2hrs 40 mins. Tea stop at Sainsburys. Mountain bikes or Hybrids with helmets advisable.

Report:
Geoff certainly organised a fine route and some fine weather to boot. Some good climbing onto the Ridgeway and then a little descent down to the road between the Ilsleys was followed by a fantastic climb up through a wooded tunnel. A few nettle stings later, we came out at Catmore, and then up to Farnborough for a descent in the meadow at "Scary Hill", which Sorrel found out wasn't so scary any more. Tea at Sorrel's ended a great ride!

Thanks Chris for that glowing report and I'm pleased that all riders enjoyed it.
