Description:Celebrate the summer solstice with a longer (32km) 2* ride out along the Downs Road and then the (optional, but very much encouraged!) local Ventoux - White Horse Hill. The views from the top definitely make it worth the climb.Returning via the flatlands of Uffington, Baulking and Goosey. |

An uneventful ride out over the rollers along the downs road to the bottom of White Horse Hill, albeit with a fierce headwind to contend with at a few points. Everyone made it up the hill very well with a few tactical stops to admire the view and to fix the broken bikes of the 3* group who overtook us on the hill. The views from the top were quite stunning!Returning via Woolstone, Uffington and Goosey, we had a few wind-assisted dashes "just because we could", arriving back in Grove somewhat later than usual! Very well done to everyone for conquering the local mountain - it's not an easy climb, but everyone did a great job (and thank you to Sorrel who did a great job of encouraging everyone)! | ||
