10 Mile Club 1* 1*
Leader:
John Stamp
Start Time:
6:30 pm
Start Location:
OMH
Description:
Our hilliest ride so far, will take us to the Letcombes with an opportunity to admire the cress beds at Letcombe Bassett (Cresscombe in Jude the Obscure). We'll return via Childrey, the bridleway to West Challow, Circourt farm and Denchworth (about 11 miles).

These rides are designed to be sociable and leisurely at a riding pace of about 10 miles per hour, suitable for newcomers to cycling, irregular cyclists and families and for those who just fancy a gentle ride . We'll stop to admire the scenery and anything that takes our eye, and no-one will be left behind. All are welcome although U-13s should be accompanied by a responsible adult .

Report:
It was lovely pleasant evening for a ride. There seemed to be a good level of conversations amongst riders. Couple of impromptu 'interest stops'; deers in field, views of the South Downs plus one rest stop. Generally the group stayed together and no one fell off the end. There weren't any untoward or near miss incidents. Arrived back a little late. Average speed 10.1mph and 18g of fat burnt off. Thanks to Andy Belcher for undertaking sweeper duties. Hopefully everyone enjoyed, pleasure to lead.
Distance:
19.31 km (12.00 mi)
