Report:
Another glorious evening for off-roading!

This time we went straight up Lark Hill, before turning left at the gallops and angling gently up the the Ridgeway just East of Baron Wantage's monument. Those with experience of both agreed that this was a more pleasant way to reach the ridge than going straight up Middlehill Down (know as 'Sheep Hill' by my kids for obvious reasons when there's a flock on there).

We continued East and our big descent for the evening was a brilliant Bridleway down into West Ginge. I've known this to be slippery when wet, but this time is was in great shape - fast and fun - though we slowed a bit on encountering a small but lively dog at the bottom. So good I'll note the grid ref: 445851

The other notable section was a tricky cambered/rutted drop down to a footbridge over the Ginge Brook. Two of us rode it and two walked. We took a picture of David descending - apparently balancing on the bridge handrail and the whole group of us.
Distance:
19.31 km (12.00 mi)
