We had to change the title of this one to Elephants as Wickham Church, since we could not get access to Welford Manor due to foot and mouth restrictions. We did see snowdrops however, and there really are elephants at Wickham.

Ten of us departed Wantage on a glorious day, to meet the other three at Lambourne. The first mishap of the day was Richard, who managed to go over his handlebars on the way UP Hackpen hill, after his bike objected to the continued lack of attention and the front mudguard met the front wheel. Still, he landed on his head so was OK!

On our return from the church Robins pannier went into his back wheel causing it to buckle, so he had to continue without a functioning rear brake.

Mavis kindly supplied the tea stop, with Pat making a dash to Lambourne for cakes.
