Description:A leisurely afternoon ride to Uffington for tea and cakes in St Mary's Church. If you've never been, it's a real treat - the perfect excuse for a Sunday afternoon ride.... Why not cycle with us from Grove or meet us there for tea.The ride will head out via Charney Bassett, Gainfield, Hatford and Fernham, returning via Baulking and Goosey, a round trip of about 20 miles. Riding pace about 10mph suitable for families. All welcome. Expect to be back in Grove about 5pm. |

A beautiful, warm and remarkably clear afternoon to be out on the bike. There was even a breeze to keep us cool.We followed the route as planned stopping several times along the way for drinks. Tea was taken in the churchyard at Uffington - to make the most of the sunshine tables had been put up outside. I recommend the cream tea - very good home-made scones as well as all the cakes. Stan had been tiring on the outward leg, but refuelled with chocolate cake and a tailwind behind, he found new energy to make good speed on the way home and complete his longest ride to date. Well done Stan. We were back in Grove just after 5pm after a lovely mellow ride - thanks everyone. A few pictures to come... | ||
