Start Time:6:30 pm |
Start Location:OMH |
Description:A longer but flat ride this evening through the Vale to Stanford. We'll head out via Denchworth, Charney Bassett and Gainfield returning by a single track road called Park Lane. A round trip of about 14 miles. There will be an optional stop for a social at the Fox in Denchworth towards the end of the ride. Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. Newcomers and returnees to cycling, and accompanied children very welcome. |

This included new faces - welcome to Beth Mindham & Charlotte Styles.A lovely leisurely pace, enjoying the sunshine, including a stop at the Church Green in Stanford in the Vale, where we were almost treated to the ride leader's "knowledgeable " spiel about the church(!), but this was avoided at the last minute (much to the relief of many), just making time for the "register" to be taken to ensure got all riders listed! Being prompted that the drinks were waiting at the pub, we moved on to complete a very pleasurable ride, with about half stopping at the Holy Grail, aka The Fox in Denchworth, to join riders from the other groups Thanks to all for an enjoyable ride | ||
