Report:Two new people trying out the off-road ride tonight: Dave and Pete. A lovely evening and once more we set off for the Ridgeway.Unfortunately, the happy mood didn't last long: Dave had a puncture in Charlton. We found the cause quickly enough, a sharp nail-like piece of metal about 3cm long. But Dave had left his kit behind and no-one else had a 29 inch inner tube. So we tried my instant patches - 2 of them because the nail-thing had gone through both sides of the tube. That seemed to work and we set off again. But, half a mile later his tyre was soft again. We weren't sure if that was the patches coming loose or a hole we hadn't found. Dave decided not to chance getting stranded on the Ridgeway, and returned. The remaining 3 of us headed up Goddards Brook, and across to the Ginge descent. The descent was running fast and smoother, though I did have the advantage of full suspension. Lots of insects in the air though - we had to keep our mouths closed! We came back over the 'bridge of doom' and back the 'normal' way. | ||
