Betjemen Ride	1*

Leader: John Tranter	Start Time: 1:00 pm	Start Location: Betjeman Park, Wantage (next door to Parish Church
Description: This is a special ride organised in collaboration with the Trustees of the Betjeman Park as part of the Wantage Summer Festival. We are inviting all those interested to start with a tour of the Park and then join us in a gentle 10 mile ride out to Uffington, where John Betjeman lived in the 1930's and 40's. St Mary's Church in Uffington will be providing tea and cakes and there will be the chance to visit Tom Brown's School Museum next door. This will be the end of the formal ride, but we will escort riders back to Wantage and Grove afterwards.

Great to see four new riders (all ladies) challenging themselves to do the ride - and managing it with no problems at all! A great introduction from John Vandore with the story of the Betjeman Park and then all went according to plan, including a delicious cream tea at Uffington Church.
