Description:Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise.We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. However this week we aim to cover 15miles with two climbs generally on lanes and tracks to Childrey duck pond. Route, Crown Packaging, Stockham, East Challow, Childrey, West Challow & Denchworth. Good views, plenty of stops. Newcomers and returnees to cycling, and accompanied children very welcome. |

Report:First of all thanks to Edith for undertaking sweeping duties & Steve for pointing out the entrance to the canal tow path; which was in lovely shade along its full length. Then it was the bridleway to Childrey with views across the Vale and onward to Sparsholt Church. The route back through ‘nettle bed alley’ (Childrey to West Challow) was a treat as someone had dealt with all the nettles! The route was shorter than expected. | ||
