10 Mile Club 1* 1*
Leader:
Steve Boreham
Start Time:
6:30 pm
Start Location:
OMH
Description:
Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise.

This week we will start by heading to Denchworth (Gateway to many rides!) before continuing to Lyford, with possible stop at church & green, then on to Charney Bassett and Goosey, returning via Asti Stud & Denchworth. Distance of about 11 miles. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way.

Newcomers and returners to cycling, and accompanied children very welcome.

Report:
A fairly select group tonight. Some of the "1 Star" regulars stepping up to the 2 Star. However, Louis, a regular "3 Starrer", stepping "down", as had recently done a 60 miler and wanted to "chill" - so it works both ways!

Nice sunny warm evening, all the reason to take it gently - leisurely "longer than usual" stop by Lyford Church served to emphasise the point.

Continued round via Charney Bassett and "dog legged" in to Goosey for, yes you've guessed it, another leisurely stop by the meadow, before returning via Asti Stud and Denchworth.

A lovely pleasurable ride, and I had to be on my best behaviour with my "better half" Mandy joining us(!)

Thank you to all.
