Description:Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 15 miles. Knobbly tyres and good lights required. We are keen to welcome new riders and have spare lights available to borrow if you let me know.Dark, cold and wet - we'll ride in any 2. But please let me know if you are coming so I can tell you if I decide to cancel due to really bad weather. |

Riders:David BrownDavid Yearley Richard Anstis Riders = 3 Weather: Report:Tonight we headed west first for a change, along the canal to Challow, then up Cornhill Lane crossing the main road to drop down the Letcombe road before taking a right down Green Road. Whilst the track hasn't quite recovered from the winter, it was at least possible to cycle along, dodging the deepest ruts without having to dismount, which is a marked improvement compared to the last time we attempted it.We then took a right to bring us in to Letcombe Regis where we found a new piece of single-track hidden in the hedge parallel with the main track - it's beyond me how we've never spotted it before. Then it was on up Castle Hill to the Ridgeway, across to South Fawley were we spotted a bottle of beer with a ribbon on it beside a bench (..it was tempting, but there was a farmer with a shotgun in the field nearby so we though we'd best leave it). We then worked our way back towards the Ridgeway and down Gramp's Hill into Letcombe Bassett, then Regis, and finally back to Grove via Wantage and the cycle track. George Anstis joined us tonight to find out what his father does every Tuesday night, "I'm not doing this again" were his words at the top of Castle Hill! | ||
