Description:Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way.This week, will head out via Stockham, Letcombes - a small matter of Holborn Hill, then down to Childrey, and back via the track to East Challow, then back to Grove. A round trip of about 12 miles. |

Report:Select little group tonight... sunny evening, where were all the others?Nice smooth ride. Slight mishap on the off road path put of Wantage, Sarah catching her handlebar on a railing - quickly descending from the bike to the floor in zippo time! No real harm done though, and after "synchronising" the handle bars with the front wheel (ie straightening up!), and tightening courtesy of handy tool carried by Ian) we were on the move again. Various small hills, and the main one of the ride - Holborn Hill - were mastered well before enjoying the descent into Childrey and back to Challow. Option of a back path from Wantage to Grove was declined - for some it was out of the way, and was not fancied, understandably, by Sarah after the earlier experience! A good ride though. | ||
