CANCELLED - Saturday afternoon ride from Grove	3*

Description: OK - decision taken. This afternoon's 3* ride is CANCELLED. High winds, strong rain and surface water aren't going make it either safe or pleasant! Monthly 60-70km (38-45 miles) afternoon ride, with a tea stop, riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). Likely to visit distant destinations. Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing likely. A classic Vale loop suitable for the winter, featuring a cheeky climb of Uffington White Horse Hill from the rarely climbed western face. This is a modified version of the Childrey Spring Classic route. Out via Denchworth and Hanney to Southmoor, back down south via Fernham to Compton Beauchamp, then the great climb and home via Uffington and Goosey. I reckon the view as you descend the east face of the Hill (the way we most commonly go up) is the most spectacular in Oxfordshire. only 53km / 33 miles, but with some serious climbing. Given the restricted daylight, I am planning not to have a tea stop.
