Description:Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly. Optional stop at The Fox in Denchworth at the end of the ride.This week we shall head north visiting Fyfield, Hinton Waldrist and Gainfield before we head to the monthly social evening at the Fox at Denchworth. No hills to speak of with only some mild gradients making this a nice flat ride. I will be leaving the ride at Denchworth so those wanting to head straight back to Grove can with the group that splits off there. |

It was raining - A lot! It was decided to abandon the 1* and 3* rides and combine all of them into a very brief 2* ride before the social evening at the Fox at Denchworth. IT RAINED SOME MORE as we left OMH and ventured out towards Lyford. At Denchworth we decided to make the route shorter, but eventually the ride leader decided to cut the route even more heading through Charney and back to Denchworth. Many of us were prepared for the rain but the cold wind was chilling and many of us were shivering heavily as we entered soggily the safe haven of the Fox. Some still continued to shiver in wet clothes as we waited for food and drink to arrive. Even with the biblical weather, cold, wet and brief evening of cycling, the group were in very high spirits and we thoroughly enjoyed the social evening at the Fox. Joined by the Off roaders we huddled around tables like rugged fishermen telling stories of epic rides, mechanicals and monsters encountered on rides. A great night from the start A massive well done to all that rode out with us and braved the rain. The ride was very short, but it was epic! A big thanks to Nicole, John and all who were on this ride. ONE TO REMEMBER! | ||
