Description:Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. Planning to take a delightful 11 mile route for this late May ride - the Hanney Explorer. We will leave Grove on the cycle track along the brook and over the railway to Denchworth for a loop through both the Hanneys. The return leg follows a track rather than the road and there will be plenty of opportunities to soak up the views throughout. Here's hoping for a balmy evening! |

Good light and company for touring the countryside and the added amusement of a deer taking the lead for a few hundred meters as we left Denchworth.Our exploratory route delivered its promise; several points of interest including two mills and an Archimedes screw. Mandy headed back for supper duty  , while others went on to enjoy the track on the return leg.A warm welcome to Christine and Gus on their first outing and thanks to Lorna for stewardship from the back of the group. | ||
