Description:Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. Hillier route this time. We will be skirting through Charlton this week, then moving on via Route 44 to Lockinge & Ginge, then on to West Hendred, before a short stretch of the A417, and back via Ardington and Lains Barn.Distance of around 12 miles. |

Indeed, we had to negotiate a large group of children on bikes, and I thought perhaps they might join us(!) Ambling on through some wonderful villages, the group progressed well, and the two main hills were tackled with gusto, and each was rewarded with a glorious downhill. On arriving in West Hendred, the leader had a "senior moment" at a junction he did not remember, and had to check with Steve S, his trusted back marker, as to which way to go! Seems that many of the riders knew which way but the leader didn't....ho hum. All in all, a wonderful ride. Thanks all for your company. | ||
