Description:Twice monthly off-road ride for those who like their rides bumpy and (sometimes) muddy. These will be on the second Saturday afternoons and 4th Sunday mornings.The rides will be about 20 miles, mostly off-road, and aim to finish in time for a late lunch (whether together or heading for home). We adjust the ride to suit the riders and the weather, but in general the terrain will be rough, so a mountain-bike in good condition and with knobbly tyres is recommended. Meet at top of Gramps Hill, but if you are arriving by car I suggest you park at the top of Hackpen Hill (Grid Ref 343851) then ride East along Ridgeway to the start. 22 mile loop with fine views, with plenty of climbing (400 m) but nothing too technical. He had cycled over from Sutton Courtney, but was happy to do the full planned circuit up to Scutchamer's Knob where he headed back through Hendred.
