10-mile Club - 1* Evening Rides Restart | 1* |
---|
Leader:Steve Swanton |
Start Time:6:30 pm |
Start Location:OMH |
Description:Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way.Our first ride will follow an out-and-back route via Denchworth to the village of Goosey with its large open green and picturesque church, a total distance of about 8 miles. It can be chilly in the evening shadows along the lanes in April, so an extra warm layer and gloves are recommended. |

Great to see Edith, Mandy, Nicky and Sheena out again. We enjoyed a nice gentle ride out to Goosey and stopped for a rest by the small picturesque church on the corner of the village green. Several riders took the opportunity to take in the view of the Downs from the back of the churchyard. We returned by the same route in glorious late evening sunshine with the setting sun casting long shadows in front of us as we rode home. Lovely. Thanks everyone for coming and see you next week. | ||
