Description:20/10/17 UPDATE - This ride is CANCELLED. I'll put it on again at a later date.For my 2nd away day ride (please note the later start time) I thought it would be nice to do a route from the Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall in Uffington. From there we head out up into Fernham before passing Farmer Gows Activity Farm, on through Longcot and into Shrivenham. Teasingly passing our tea stop (Bloomfields Fine Foods Deli & Coffee Shop), we then carry on to do a loop of the pretty village of Bourton before returning to Shrivenham. Suitably refreshed, we then head off, walking our bikes over a local railway footbridge on the way, towards Kingston Winslow and our main climb for the day. From there, we head to Compton Beauchamp and a lovely downhill back to the railway line before joining the road back into Uffington. A total of 18 miles. |
