Description:Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly. Might be a struggle for new or irregular riders in winter months.A ride at the easier end of 2* with some off-road sections. For a change of direction, we'll head eastwards to explore the recent developments around the Harwell campus and onto Blewbury garden centre for coffee at the StyleAcre cafe. Out to Harwell via Wantage and NCN544 we'll then loop through the Hagbournes, Blewbury and Upton before returning to Harwell. There is some flexibility of route back, depending on how hot it is and the need for shade - the route attached shows the longest. We can decide on the day. Aiming to be back in Grove before 1:30pm. Several section of the route are stony in places and may not suit thinnest road tyres, but tourers and hybrids will be fine. |
