Description:Rearranged from yesterday - hoping for much better weather!As a courtesy to the ride leader, we ask that you pre-book for this ride. Half day ride (60-70km / 38-45 miles), with a tea stop, riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). Likely to visit distant destinations. Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing likely. Something a bit different. An afternoon jaunt to Hungerford with a tea stop at Elianes. Please note start is from The Beacon, Wantage. |

Report:It was a good decision to reschedule from the wild stormy day before, although it was a shame that as a result Sharon couldn't go on her own ride!So we were a small but elite group setting off into a pretty stiff headwind down over the ridges to Hungerford. All went well and we enjoyed a very splendid coffee stop at Eliane's in Hungerford. The cunning plan worked in that the wind then more or less blew us back and it was great to finish with the big swoop down Chain Hill (until it then started raining as we got back to Wantage!) Thanks to Eddie and Andy for great company. And thanks to Sharon for a really nice route which I hope we will use again. | ||
