Thursday Family Ride to Lyford and the Hanneys	1*

Leader: Steve Swanton	Start Time: 10:00 am	Start Location: OMH
Description: After the heat of last week, milder conditions are forecast for our family ride this week, when we will be visiting Lyford and the Hanneys. We'll have a stop by the small green in Lyford and again for refreshments at the playing fields by the community shop in East Hanney. There is an optional detour to see an Archimedean screw generator in action. Once again, the route provides lots of flexibility for shortening by splitting into groups. We'll be running a weekly series of family-friendly social rides on Thursday mornings over the Summer holidays. Designed for young riders with a parent/guardian, we'll cover 15-24km (9-15 miles) at a riding pace of 13-16km (8-10 miles) per hour following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We'll stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. There will be experienced riders on hand to guide, assist and encourage. Please book your places by texting the ride leader no earlier than the Friday before.
