Description:Oxfordshire Cycleway revisited.A 50-ish mile ride following the route (all on road) of the now neglected cycleway as far as Swinbrook with lunch at the Royal Oak PH in Burford. This will take us along the foot of the Downs to (but not up) White Horse Hill, Uffington, Great Coxwell, Coleshill, Buscot, Langford and Shilton. Returning by a more direct route (probably) through Brize and Bampton, we should be back before dusk - lights recommended just in case we're not. |

Riders:Pat HurtRiders = 1 Report:With blustery, wet and chilly conditions, it was not a day to be out on the bike. With no let-up in sight, I decided to cancel at 9 and drove into town on the off-chance that someone might have ventured out. Pat was huddled in the entrance to Stead & Simpson, having cycled over from Lambourn - more in hope than expectation?.. We waited until 9:40 and as no-one else turned up, the ride was duly abandonned. A day for the Sunday papers... I'll try to reschedule for sometime next year.Steve | ||
