Riders:Amanda SeddonAngela Sanders Chris Walters Juliet Bailey Simon Gibbs Sorrel Williams Stephen Quartermain Steve Sanders Steve Swanton Riders = 9 Report:All started well heading off with a very good pace towards Denchworth and Charney Bassett and then onto Fyfield (crossing the A420), Longworth and Hinton Waldrist. Crossed the A420 again (this became a bit of a theme) through Pusey, down to Hatford and then Sandy Lane to Carswell.Across the A420 (again!) to Littleworth and Thrupp with a fantastic bit of rolling road with no traffic and pretty much pot hole free. All of us managed to avoid punctures from any rogue hawthorns that might have been in the road from the recently cut hedges. Onto Faringdon and out the other side towards the leisure centre and, no surprises....across the A420 again down to Fernham, Shellingford (stopping to let the local hunt pass through) and Stanford in the Vale where we said goodbye to Amanda and Juliet (with amazingly fresh legs from doing Lands End to John O'Groats over Christmas). Bit of a sprint down Park Lane and back to Denchworth and Grove as the thought of missing tea and cake at the Cornerstone Cafe was becoming more of a reality. Arrived just in time at 3.45pm, top marks to the Cafe for being so accommodating to 7 hungry cyclists...arriving home just in time to watch Wales beat England in the Six Nations. A perfect day for my maiden leading voyage. 56km (35 miles in old money) with an average speed of 21.8 km/h (13.6 mph) | ||
