The ride went through Wantage but followed a short detour due to the roadworks at the Camel roundabouts. Your trusty ride leader decided that it was slippery after all, when she picked herself up from the floor. However, all that was bruised was one ego. We carried on to Letcombes and then up to the top of Sparsholt Firs and onto Lambourn. A fantastic meandering route out of Lambourn with hardly any traffic to arrive at the top of Ashbury. Considering the 'mishap' earlier, it wasn't too much of a surprise that some of us were quite cautious going down the hill into Ashbury - no casualties (apart from Dean's phone...well, I think it was a phone when he showed us all the bits). Onto Knighton, Uffington and then Fawler Hill (it was beginning to get a bit cold as the sun went down). We whizzed through Sparsholt and Childrey to arrive in Wantage Sainsbury's for our tea and cake at 4pm. Fantastic timing and a super route! | ||
