Easy on A Sunday Morning Off Road Ride 2*
Leader:
Richard Pethybridge
Start Time:
10:00 am
Start Location:
WMP
Description:
Regular off-road rides for 2019 we are toning these down and keeping them closer to Wantage. Free parking at The Beacon, and meet at Wantage Market Place, by King Alfred.

17 miles and only one climb up to the ridgeway. This ride includes some secret single track near Harwell - nothing technical, just good fun and suitable for all. The weather forecast is excellent - come and have a go for some off-road adventures!
Riders:

Riders = 5

Weather:
sunny intervals
Report:
A very busy Wantage Market Place greeted the 5 riders today, as it was filled with a fair along with a whole bunch of stalls and attractions. We quickly left all the commotion behind and headed out through West Lockinge and up Goddard's Brook to the Ridgeway. A gentle breeze aided our progress towards Scutchamer's Knob (what a great English name!), before a super descent down towards the Harwell campus. We then tested our single-track and tree avoidance skills through the woods by Hungerford Road, before returning to Wantage via East Ginge and Ardington. Overall a super little ride in perfect weather with great company. The very definition of "Easy on a Sunday morning".
Distance:
28.00 km (17.40 mi)
