Riders:Anke OttoDavid Jackson Des Higgs Jan McCabe John Tranter Roger Postbeschild Stephanie Haddrell Steve Joyce Riders = 8 Weather: Report:Only 8 of us this evening, not sure if it was the very hot weather or the hills that meant numbers were on the low side!The ride title was "Letcombe, Hackpen and Kingston Lisle", but this was slightly misleading as those who had looked at the Ride With GPS had noted it was an anticlock wise loop, going out through Denchworth and Goosey, up through Kingstone Lisle, along the springline briefly before dropping down into Westcost and Sparsholt then across the B road, for a challenging ascent to Sparsholt firs, before the descent of Hackpen to the Letcombes and back via Wantage. As we climbed up the hill, a couple of people had commented that if they'd relised in advance the route was anticlockwise rather than clockwise they probably wouldn't have come. Saying that, everyone made it to the top of the climb having a sense of achievement, and opportunity to recover and admire the view (and the amount of climbing would have been no different if done in the oposite direction!) | ||
