Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 10 -15 miles. Knobbly tyres/required and good lights when it gets dark (‘get you home’ lights in Spring/Autumn). We are keen to welcome new riders and can make recommendations or have spare lights to borrow if you let us know. Dark, cold and wet - we’ll ride in any two. But please let us know if you are coming so we can tell you if we decide to cancel due to bad weather or other reasons.The route goes out via Larkhill, The Ridgeway, Old Street, Bluebell Woods, Catmore, Ilsley Down, Coleharbour Road, Betterton, Lockinge. Ride Distance 14.6 miles/23km. Except to be back in Wantage for around 08:30pm. This route is only suitable for Mountain bikes/ E- Mountain bikes. |

A total of ten riders along with full sun and perfect temperatures made for an excellent evenings ride out on the trails. It was a pleasure to welcome Frances, Shelly and Josh on their first mountain bike ride with the club. We had good verity of mountain/ E- bikes for this ride. The route took us up and along Larkhill, down the wonderful Old Street into Bluebell woods, which were absolutely magical to ride through on this warm sunny summers evening. We then did a loop of Catmore, before returning via Bluebell Woods, Ilsley Down, Coleharbour Road and Lockinge. All ten riders were safely back in Wantage for around 08:30pm. Thanks to James for sweeping and leading duties when required. Thanks to all riders for being such an amazing group to lead. | ||
