Riders:Andrew WatsonChris Walters David Bridge David Wynn (deceased) Dean Douglas Des Higgs John Talbot John Tranter Maurice Bawden Richard Divall Steve Boreham Steve Swanton Riders = 12 Report:Eleven riders set off from Grove as it started to spot with rain. We headed to Steventon where we were joined by Dave Wynn to make us a round dozen. The rain started in vengeance as we headed up Steventon Hill and down through Milton, Sutton Courtenay and Appleford. It was really miserable but admirably everyone stuck with it.The rain eased as we headed up to Wittenham Clumps and the Sun began to shine as we threaded our way through the thatched cottages of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell. We headed to Wallingford town centre and an excellent tea-stop at Bloc Brazilian where we could warm up around the big table in the upstairs room. We took a direct route back through South Moreton and Didcot town centre. At Harwell a couple of riders headed off home and Maurice's front tyre started to blow bubbles in a puddle. We split into two groups as one repaired the puncture and the other headed off to Rowstock, through the Hendreds and down past Lain's Barn back to Grove. A good ride and great company. Well done to everyone for sticking with it through the rain at the beginning for the reward of a little Sun and a dry run home! | ||
